WHAT WE DO?
Path to Empowerment is a non-political, non-sectarian volunteer based nonprofit organization that aims to provide equal opportunities for displaced and underprivileged girls by empowering them, providing them access to education and family assistance programs.
OUR STORY
Located in Gulu District, you will find the Path to Empowerment. As suggested by the name, the organization aims to empower women, focusing on the marginalized community located in the rural areas of Uganda. A lot of the girls and women have been captives of the Lord Resistance Army with children born in captivity who are homeless and don’t have an identity in the community. Currently, the girls, women directly affected by war and children born in captivity are helpless as they are not being welcomed by community and taken like their fathers are responsible for the atrocities that killed thousands of people in the region. Path to Empowerment aims to help these women become independent through education, vocational skills, health and economic development.
We believe that anyone can help make an impact and together, through small acts of kindness, we can help reform the lives of people around us.
