A lot of girls in rural communities of Uganda shy away from going to schools once they reach puberty and start getting their monthly period. The major reason behind the hesitation is that they can’t afford to buy pads and since they don’t have any other way of ensuring their clothes don’t get stained, they choose to leave school and stay at home instead.

Therefore, we are planning on introducing hygiene kits for girls. In addition to a pack of pads, a hygiene kit will consist of other products as well such as soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, towel and a flashlight.
